This is a lazy post. I am just pasting my twitter messages (@zhenjl) here.
Been spending a bit of time on the cloud plays from various big names like VMW, CTXS, and MSFT 34 minutes ago from TweetDeck
CTXS seems to be content to be a infra tools provider, no immediate vision as a platform tools provider 33 minutes ago from TweetDeck
VMW with its VDC-OS definitely is going to be providing cloud platform tools..MSFT has always been a platform type of play, also w/ azure 32 minutes ago from TweetDeck
CTXS also owns WAN opt that can help move VMs/apps around…VMW doesn’t have that and will need to partner 31 minutes ago from TweetDeck
CSCO talks about application delivery in the inter-cloud and moving apps around…pro’ly winner as they r the network guy for any players 29 minutes ago from TweetDeck
have to say on the infra level, CTXS vision is easier to understand than VMW..cloud center, delivery center..that’s it 27 minutes ago from TweetDeck
VMW’s got VDC-OS, vSphere, vClient, vCenter, vCloud, not to mention all the other product names…head spinning 26 minutes ago from TweetDeck
VMW’s strategy seems to first abstract the hardware, second abstract the OS 25 minutes ago from TweetDeck
both VMW and CTXS want to own the endpoint and server…imagine all ur data flows thru VMW or CTXS owned infra (VDI, srvr virt, net virt) 24 minutes ago from TweetDeck
My beginning attmpt for a vendor cloud map…incomplete..work in progress http://is.gd/decr 14 minutes ago from TweetDeck
Look for updates probably on a daily basis since I have this week off.
